The principal activity of OÜ Utilitas Tallinna Elektrijaam is the generation and sales of thermal energy and electricity. The company is operating two biofuel-based combined heat and power stations and one solar power plant in Tallinn.
The company’s combined heat and power generation process is 100% based on the energy from domestic wood chips and peat. Together, the two stations supply approximately 45% of the annual demand of the district heating network of Tallinn. The amount of electricity generated in the same process is sufficient for satisfying the electricity consumption needs of more than 130,000 apartments, i.e., all apartments in the district heating network of Tallinn.
